Babies, babies everywhere.

I'm becoming more and more impatient about getting pregnant.  Ha!  I have heard that once a woman decides that she wants to become pregnant, she wants to be pregnant *yesterday*.  I always thought "that will never be me, I don't even know if I want to have kids"... my how things have changed.  It seems that every time I turn around someone else is announcing their pregnancy.  It's a bit torturous, but I have to remind myself that our kiddo will just be surrounded by that many more friends.  :)

Since we hit that snag a few months ago when I had to have my wisdom teeth removed, we have only really been trying for.. mmm... 3 months?  I never knew how agonizing it would be to await the arrival (or hopefully NON-arrival) of my monthly visitor.  TORTURE!  But I have thoroughly been enjoying the "trying" part.  Hehe.  And it has resulted in some more adventurous bedtime activities.  Whoa, TMI!

Anyway, this past weekend one of my best friends from Champaign and her husband came to town.  We had been exchanging emails for the past 8 months or so (we live about 3 hours apart and tend to keep in better touch via email than phone, I'm bad at phone calls) about how we were jumping on the "baby train".  :)  While I hit my snag of teeth...grrr... Champaign girlfriend shared with me her secret of being VERY early pregnant in September when we traveled together to attend the wedding of another one of our best friends.  I was thrilled for her!  She came to town this weekend to hit the outlet mall for baby clothes shopping since they recently learned that they are having a little girl.  I am so freakin' excited to meet this kid AND to see my friend become a mother.  Admittedly, I have felt even a bit more pressure to get things moving along myself now, but that is all self-inflicted of course.  We had a great time shopping and just hanging out as a foursome.  It really made me recognize how much I miss that girl, wish they lived closer!  Thankfully, I'll get to see them again next month, when I drive down to her for her baby shower!!!

Seriously though, my cousin is pregnant again (due July), my Champaign friend (due May), a former co-worker who moved away is expecting, a high school friend (due any minute now!), another former co-worker just gave birth last week.  It's kind of insane.  But I guess I'm at that age.  :)

As for our own journey... we'll see if my visitor arrives on time or not.  If not, I plan to start charting more completely by beginning to track my basal body temperature and/or utilizing ovulation predictor tests.  We'll keep trying!
