Baby Eins: Four and a half. Baby Zwei: Two and a half.

Dear kiddos,

Oh kiddos. It has been a long time.  We have had so many adventures since I last wrote so very long ago.

Beckett, Beck, Beck-a-doodle-doo, you are a BIG 4 and a half.  You have completed two years of preschool and have one more to go before you start Kindergarten.  You have enjoyed your time in school at the "Buffalo building".  You have learned a lot!  You love to sing and dance.  And finger paint!  You're starting to have interest in writing, but don't sit still long enough to practice at all.  You decided that you were done with pull-ups on your 4th birthday.  You took your first soccer and t-ball combined class recently and had a lot of fun learning to kick and throw.  You thoroughly enjoyed our wintertime taking classes at My Gym. You love to play Legos and playdoh and make slime.  You love to jump on the bed.  You love Paw Patrol, Nexo Knights, Blaze and the Monster Machines, Minions, Wreck it Ralph, Hotel Transylvania 2, and Zootopia.  You are a bundle of energy.  Love running around, going to the playground, riding your bike (still have training wheels, but you're getting much better at controlling it), playing water guns.  You are still taking naps most days and going to bed late.  You still sneak into our bed at night and we let you. You are kind and generous.  You are friendly and outgoing.  You love your brother, but also want time alone from him, which is totally understandable.  You're such a fun kid, buddy.

Keaton, Keats, Keats-a-beats, you are a BIG 2 and a half.  Next year, you will join your big brother at the Buffalo Building for preschool and I think you are going to LOVE it. You nursed for 29 months, with our last session right before your dad and I left for our Hawaiian adventure.  You stayed with Oma while we were gone--my first time away from you!--and did fantastic.  You love pretty much everything that your big brother does, but also have some quirks of your own.  You also loved going to My Gym, especially playing in the ball pit.  You LOVE animals.  All animals.  And can name just about all of them.  You have crazy hair because you hate haircuts.  You like to sing and dance.  You are a terribly picky eater--your favorite meals right now are chicken nuggets with applesauce and pizza.  At least you eat fruit...a lot of fruit.  You give the BEST hugs.  You love "nuggles" (snuggles) while you fall asleep at naptime and bedtime.  You like to read stories, but also to watch super-annoying videos on YouTube kids.  Like opening surprise eggs and strange video game footage set to nursery rhymes and the finger song.  You love to swim.  And climb.  And jump.  And wrestle.  And pretty much do anything you can to scare the hell of out your parents and keep up with Beckett.  You're crazy and stubborn and love to yell "FINE!" when you don't get your way.  You're in a hitting phase, which is super fun.  You are a big handful, but so sweet.  You love your brother so much that you smother him.  Sometimes literally.  You are our little spitfire.

We love you boys so much.  Watching you both grow-up is wonderful and terrifying.  There have been a lot of terrible things in the news lately and I dread the day when I will have to explain to you that the world is not always a wonderful place.  That is one of the reasons that I am so glad that you have each other.  I hope you will always look out for one another.  Even when you drive each other crazy.
Love always, Mom
